London Avery Hill

THE CITY

Avery Hill is a residential district located in south-east London. It is nestled in the lush greenery of golf courses and is characterised by privately-owned red brick houses and immaculately landscaped gardens. Most residents commute to their workplaces in London, which is only a 30-minute drive away. Like most big city suburbs, it has a wealth of shops and restaurants within walking distance of the campus.

STUDY FACILITIES

The Avery Hill campus, part of the University of Greenwich, is surrounded by 86 acres of parkland in Eltham. The facilities are very modern, featuring large, bright classrooms, a spacious, extremely functional canteen called The Dome, common rooms, a multi-purpose sports hall as well as several sports fields. The main buildings are only a few minutes' walk between each other as they all overlook a small square that transforms into the very heart of the campus during your stay.

THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE COURSE

The 15-hour per week English language course will be taught by British Council certified teachers.

10 hours of soft skills are included in the lessons, which count towards the PCTO programme, specially designed for school groups from Italy and follows our tailored programme that completes the number of study/work hours that can be used to complete the two hundred hours required by the PCTO scheme.

All students will undergo an entrance test on arrival to establish the level of their knowledge of the language and be placed in the appropriate class. A certificate recognised by the British Council will be awarded to each student at the end of the study holiday.

STUDENT ACCOMMODATION

Students will be housed in flats consisting of 5/6 single rooms with en-suite bathroom facilities.

Each flat has a small lounge where students can relax. Full board meals are provided at The Dome college canteen, with packed lunches provided at weekends and on day trips.

Cambridge with entrance to Kings College + 4 train tickets per day are included.

The facilities offer all modern comforts, tennis courts, a multi-purpose gymnasium, football pitches and ample green spaces in which to relax.
